Applied Mathematics, Statistical Science, and the Graduate Application

As of July 1, 2018, the former Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics has been split into two distinct departments - the Department of Applied Mathematics and the Department of Statistics.

You will notice on the graduate application two different M.S. and Ph.D. programs - the Statistics and Applied Mathematics (SAM) M.S. and Ph.D. programs, and the Statistical Science M.S. and Ph.D. programs. The statistics track of the Statistics and Applied Mathematics program is no longer accepting applications.

Students who are interested in studying statistics should apply to the Statistical Science program.

Students who are interested in studying Applied Mathematics should apply to the Applied Mathematics track of the Statistics and Applied Mathematics program.
