Anatomy & Physiology and Organismal Biology Lecturer Positions - Whittier College

Anatomy and Physiology Lecturer: The Biology Department at Whittier College is accepting applications for a Lecturer of Anatomy & Physiology starting August 2022. This appointment is for one year but is renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Masters or Ph.D. in anatomy and/or organismal physiology or related fields, but individuals holding degrees in health professions (e.g., RN, PA, MD, DO, etc.) are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive undergraduate teaching excellence that employs innovative and effective teaching to prepare a diverse student body for future success. Teaching responsibilities will include both lectures and laboratories. The Biology Department seeks to provide broad training in the biological sciences, preparing students for a variety of careers including education, research, health, and business.

Organismal Biology Lecturer: The Biology Department at Whittier College is accepting applications for a one-year appointment as Lecturer in Biology starting August 2022. Subject to performance, this position will be renewable. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. within the Biological Sciences, but we will also consider candidates who have achieved ABD status within the biological sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in marine, invertebrate, and organismal biology. Teaching load will include lower and upper division courses that emphasize evolutionary approaches to the study of invertebrate organisms.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive undergraduate teaching excellence. The Biology Department seeks to provide broad training in the biological sciences, preparing students for a variety of careers including education, research, health, and business.
