CSE Master's Projects Bulletin Board

How to use the CSE Master's Projects Bulletin Board

The CSE Master's Projects Bulletin Board is the Google Sheet listed below that displays current project ideas proposed by CSE faculty for CSE MS and CE MS students who have selected Capstone Plan II (i.e., the project track). If you are a CSE MS or a CE MS student who has not yet started a project or thesis with a faculty advisor, please feel welcome to review the proposed projects on the bulletin board below and contact the faculty member affiliated with a project idea that aligns well with your interests, skills, and goals. Please limit your outreach to no more than two faculty members.

Alternatively, CSE MS and CE MS students can contact CSE faculty members affiliated with a specific research area even if a faculty member does not have a project currently listed on the bulletin board below. You can email the faculty member to propose a thesis or project idea, or you can contact them to inquire about any research opportunities they may have available for master's students.

Please note that CSE MS and CE MS students are required to identify a faculty advisor by their third quarter. If you have already confirmed a faculty advisor, please contact the faculty member to begin working on your master's capstone thesis or project.

This bulletin board is intended for CSE MS and CE MS students only.

  • If you are a PhD student, please work with your current faculty advisor to define your master's thesis or project.
  • If you are a master's student in another program, please consult your Graduate Student Advisor or your faculty advisor regarding capstone requirements for your program.
  • If you are an undergraduate student, please review the UCSC Undergraduate Research Opportunities website.

If you encounter issues viewing the Bulletin Board, please first ensure you are logged into your UCSC Google account, and then email cse-gradadvising@ucsc.edu if the issues continue. Requests for editing access to the Google Sheet will not be approved.
